Sinopsis: Borderhole takes place on a mythical border area between Colombia and the United States. We investigate the relationship between North and South America through the lens of the American Dream and the illumination of multiple tensions in and around the border. The piece explores imperialism, globalization through pop music, the gender mutant in an international context, and the choreography of women’s bodies in relation to sociopolitical and ecosystems.

Bio: Amber Bemak teaches filmmaking at Southern Methodist University, and her creative work is based in experimental and documentary film, performance art, and curatorial practice. Amber’s work focuses on themes of Buddhist culture, performative explorations of the body in relation to greater political systems, and cross-cultural encounters in the context of globalization. Her feature and short films have played in numerous festivals internationally, and have been seen at venues including the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, SculptureCenter, and Oberhausen Film Festival. She has taught film theory and practice in India, Nepal, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States.
Nadia Granados is originally from Colombia, and currently based in Mexico City. Her work explores the relationships between traditional pornography and violence and is both performative and technological, art and activism, and a mix of cabaret, intervention, and streaming video. In all of her work, she uses her body to detonate, opening up new pathways of action and shifting consciences. Among the many awards she has received are the Franklin Furnace Fund, the 3rd Visual Arts Biennial Bogotá Prize, and the FONCA award for Colombia-Mexico artist residencies. Her work has been presented in Canadá , Venezuela, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Berlí n, Ecuador, Argentina, Perú , the United States, Mexico, Korea, Brazil, and Colombia.

Bio: Born in 1992 in Bulgaria, Anthoniy Val is a young contemporary artist who lives currently in France. After his studies in cinema, he goes into fine arts and especially digital arts. In his research, which by the way is based on the transversality Arts – Sciences – Technologies, he questions the body and, in particular, the comprehension of the body by nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, information technology and cognitive science (NBIC). In his artistic practice, be it through his installations or experimental films, he is interested in what is biomeadia and how it could be used in the artistic creation.
Bio: Auden Lincoln-Vogel is an animator and experimental filmmaker from Boston, MA. His work spans from narrative animation to expanded cinema performances, and employs techniques as diverse as Claymation, cutouts, live action, drawn animation, paint-on-glass, cameraless animation, and found images. He is currently a US Fulbright scholar and is working on a narrative animation in Tallinn, Estonia.
