USA/Serbia 4:50Synopsis: Influx of refugees, from Middle East and African countries torn by wars, within European Union has brought to the test EU’s need for liberal recognition to its knees. EU failed people in need and it failed itself. Those who were looking for safe place were met by barb wires, politicians that from comfort of their own homes are closing borders, forcing people of all ages to spend in the cold without even their basic needs met. Number of dead, whether on seas or on land in goes up hundreds of thousands. This video is for them not to be forgotten, it was their journey to reach safety, and unfortunately they walked toward their EUlogy.
Bio: Gabrijel Savic Ra (1978) is Belgrade born multimedia artist, poet and theorist. He exhibited worldwide (Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Sad, MADRE Museum Of Contemporary Art in Naples, Pasadena Museum Of California Art, Independent Museum of Contemporary Art, Cyprus, etc.) Gabrijel was also founder of two galleries in Belgrade’s SCC: V.I.P.Art Gallery and Art@Art Gallery. In 2005 along with few other artists founded art group “Corpus Artisticum”. In 2015 founded art group (Av)+(Ga) as a fluid concept for art/curatorial. Production. He has published two books of poetry and was published in various anthologies of poetry and art magazines. In span of fifteen years he published several music albums that were used for performances and video works for his own works and other artists. Gabrijel Savic Ra’s works are cutting edge and uncompromising, especially when they deal with the problems of social justice, preservation of nature and generally good for the world at large. Currently residing in Portland, Oregon.
